About Us

John & Kate Harman looked at 64 different properties before leaving New York City and purchasing a little country store in Sugar Hill in 1954. They wanted the perfect place to follow their dream of running a country store and in 1955, they started the mail-order Cheese business.

The Aldriches have been residents of Sugar Hill since the late 1780's and it seems appropriate for us to be continuing the Harmans' dream after working closely with John & Kate and learning the joy of running this customer orientated business.

Our summer Lupine Festival webpage is quite popular and features daily photos in June of the lupines blooming. We also feature photos during autumn so you can watch the Mountains put on their glorious coat of color.

Of course, the best way to learn more about us, is to stop by for a visit. The sample table is always set, you can have a nibble or two of our cheese and usually a few other delicious items are out for tasting, too. Hope to see you on your next visit to our area.
